I'm Marcus Windle. I currently study for an MA in Photography at Falmouth University. I have always had a love for photography. I got my first camera at the age of 13 and used it to understand the world. My career path took me down the route of becoming an engineer and eventually a software engineer. However, my love for photography has endured, and it is now time to explore that fully.
I believe that my father inspired my need to capture and record what is meaningful to me. His love for motion pictures and filmmaking saw him write scripts, set build, and produce to bring to life his cinematic visions.
My photographic practice considers natural forces acting upon the land. In particular, I have been focused on the activities of man as a natural force and evidence of his activities over time recorded in the land
The sense of belonging and connectedness to the land that I experience comes from my grandfather. My childhood was filled with working with him on his allotment, fishing, helping with beekeeping and his many outdoor activities.
